Big tour of the week
I ♥ WINE
A very special treat for you and much loved amongst all our guests…the chance to take part in the grape harvest at a local vineyard and enjoy some good local wine together with a delicious picnic! Our cyclists will hop on their bikes and ride off into the beautiful rolling hills of Emilia Romagna, touring through the winding country roads and climbing and descending the hilly hinterland until they reach the farmhouse and vineyard of a local wine producer. Here our cyclists and our non-cyclists, who will be taken by minibus, will get stuck into a bit of grape picking and then we will sit down on the grass and enjoy a fantastic picnic, specially prepared for you by Marina, and of course accompanied by a glass of local Sangiovese wine!
The rest of the week our guides will offer the normal range of guided tours for our cycling guests.

Highlight of the week
The local event of the year for wine lovers!
In Italian this event is called the 'Capodanno del Vino' (The New Year of Wine) and it is a traditional event dedicated to wine tasting, accompanied by delicious food and dishes using the freshest ingredients from the local territory.
It is a chance for everyone to get together in order to celebrate and rejoice in their passion for wine; for this reason, further to the wine tasting, a folk and family atmosphere is created with special events. One of these is the classic grape-crushing competition between the various hamlets of the town, a fun challenge that always gets the crowds involved. Furthermore, the streets of San Giovanni In Marignano will be full with stands and stalls selling eno-gastronomic products and local arts and crafts and there will be live music and shows all through the day.
